Over 8 million Brazilian teenagers is going to take the annual two-day data enem 2018 on Sundays, and never on Saturdays anymore, right after a long-running campaign by Jewish groups and individuals other religions who observe Saturday as being the Sabbath.
In 2016, some 76,000 applicants were limited to classrooms between 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday in order to start the exam after sunset without the possibility of cheating. This coming year the test will probably be held on consecutive Sundays, Nov. 5 and Nov.12, education officials announced on Thursday.
“We are incredibly satisfied with the choice, which shows a problem to meet a real claim and stop young adults from being isolated and locked up for several hours until they could begin the test, thus allowing individuals who keep your Sabbath to have their dignity respected,” said Fernando Lottenberg, president of the Brazilian Israelite Confederation.
The decision to affect the dates of your exam – known through the acronym ENEM – is the consequence of a public poll held through the Ministry of Education.
Some 42.3 percent of 600,000 participants in the poll voted for your exam being held on two Sundays in a row, whereas 34.1 per cent voted for Sunday and Monday and only 23.6 % wished to help keep the traditional one-weekend Saturday and Sunday format.
“We had been pleading this modification for many years, it ed1talenem in the past administrations, and also the request was submitted to minister after minister,” said Lottenberg.
The inscricoes enem 2018 was originally introduced to assess the quality of secondary-level education in america, however it has changed in a content test now employed for other purposes, including admittance to the principle federal universities and other public institutions.
Because it came to be in 1998, the ENEN is one of the largest nationwide test on earth after China’s Gao Kao, the National Advanced Schooling Entrance Examination, that is taken by over 9 million students.
